I agree with Ditzy. The number one thing people will want to do is "visit." Be sure to allow plenty of time for that. A short presentation, like you have planned, should be very nice. You might want to have a microphone, as even in a crowd of 40 it can be hard to hear. What are you doing for decorations?
Is it a day time or evening event? That will make a difference. If it is in the Fall, consider buying small gourds and mini pumpkins and spray painting them gold. These could be scattered about with the fall leaves you can buy in craft stores. Small voite candles would add a lovely touch. You could go with a fall scent if you wanted, such as apple or cinnamon. Table cloths in earth tones would round it all out!
