My parents are also celebrating their 50th in December.. Christmas Eve to be exact! Because this is such a hectic time of year and we have many out of state relatives, my parents decided they would rather celebrate on Oct. 21. We are trying to infuse a little Christmas into the the decorating so no one forgets the actual date is Dec.24th! We are keeping it simple with centerpieces made with gold candles, some greenery, gold painted pinecones and little red berries. We are also putting a small Christmas tree on the photo/registry table. (We are having a catered buffet dinner for 175.) If you are planning to send requests for memory submissions, you could send those out early (kind of a "save the date" thing) and then send your actual invitations closer to the party date so people don't forget. good luck and most of all, have fun!
