I am planning a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party for my parents. For the table centerpieces I bought small hurricane lamps at a craft store and filled the bottom with gold foil hershey kisses and put a small white tea-lite candle in the upper part. I then put a gold wire trimmed ribbon around the middle and placed them on a gold lace doily in the center of the table covered with a white tablecloth. I scattered gold "50" and "Happy Anniversary" confetti on the table also. For favors I ordered candy bars with a custom wrapper that said Happy 50th Anniversary with their names and the date. The wrapper was white with gold lettering and a wedding picture was scanned and placed in the center. We also made a family tree and had colored copies printed on parchment paper and rolled them like a scroll and tied with gold and white ribbon. A scrapbook was made beginning with my parents as children and included pages throughout their lives along with a page for each child, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I ordered a card from the President which both he and the First Lady signed and included that in the scrapbook too. We used white and gold balloons and made an arch for them to walk through as they entered. All of the children and grandchildren formed a circle and my parents danced to the song "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. A mass was said before dinner and my parents exchanged new wedding bands. After Mass we had a family portrait taken on the altar.
