We have never had a party for our parents. next year for their 40th they are going to get remarried.I thought it'd be a good time for a party for them.theres 3 of us kids all of whom are somewhat strapped for money.do you have any ideas of what we can maybe do for a 40th anniversary wedding? anything that could make this extra special for them? and what is your opinion on the following?upon mentioning this to my brother he made a comment about having it at his place.hes got a beautiful home he just moved into but its out a little ways on the outskirts of town and could be a little tricky to find. i work at the Elks club where they are set up to do parties.its a beautiful place and my parents recently joined membership there. i would like to have this friend of ours play cds and sing kareoke(which my parents love).its a july anniversary. which do you feel would go over better? thanks for your input. Also a couple ideas i've seen people do that you could pass on... somebody brought in a manniquen and put the origional wedding dress on it for display at the reception. also they got like a 4 or 5 inch wide lace, cut it at about 3 inches long. they folded that in half and put a seam across the bottom.they gathered the other end and put a ribbon on the front. inside the "pouch" they put chocolate kisses and other candies and put on the tables for each guest.another idea that would work would be get the lace with the "eyelets" and thread with lace to have a pouch that closes. it was neat. thanks again !!!
