50th Anniversary Invitation IdeaPosted by Kimberly N on February 19, 2001 at 19:31:05: My Mother and Father in-law are celebrating their 50th wedding anniverary in October 2001. We live in MI but they were married in Buffalo, NY and that is where the aunts, uncles and cousins live so we are having the party there. For their invitations, I was able to have my sister-in-law get me their wedding album so I could scan in their wedding picture. I bought the package of ivory colored invitations at Michael's with at 50% coupon ($10 for 25 invites with envelopes, and 50 cards with envelopes to use for response/reception cards). Instead of doing the traditional invitation on the front of the card, I am printing the scanned wedding picture on the front, and we are printing the actual invitation on the inside of the card. We are printing the reception information on the left inside corner of the card to save on postage. I figure between the cost of the invitations and the ink cartridge for my printer, I can do 80 invitations for about $50. And they look really nice too. Feel free to email me if you would like to see the actual invitation - I can scan it in and email it as a jpeg or gif file.
