I have a winetasting every Feb. This year was my 3rd. This time, we all went semiformal..each couple(16-18 people) brought 2 of the same bottles of wine(I picked out the ones for tastings), Made up invitations on the computer..appetizers were:Smoked Salmon Triangles with Dilled Cream Cheese,Crabmeat-Spinach Turnovers,Bacon Wrapped Pinepple,Sweet and Spicy Olives,Assorted Cheeses/Crackers.Entrees: Chicken-Shrimp Wild Rice with Mushrooms,Green Beans w/Orange Butter,Salad of WinterGreens, Rolls. Desserts: assorted(store bakery). We had abt 4 dry white wines, 4 dry reds. We start at 5 with horsd'oeuvres/social time..6:30 for the wine tasting, then followed by dinner. We open one of each wine for the tasting. The other bottles are opened AFTER the tasting is done. I also made up wine tasting sheets with a the wine name, price, what to serve it with, and an area for their comments. We really have a GREAT TIME!! Last year, we tasted wines from around the world, the year before that were Calif and NY wines. This year was mixed from France-Oregon-Calif-Washington. I would like to do a summer tasting on the deck some time!
