I have a Polynesian dances troup and school and have performed as well as hosted many luaus.

Do you have entertainment? Dancers and real island music? If you order from "inexpensive" mail order catalogs you end up with cheap, paper decorations. Visit your local thrift stores. You'd be surprised at what you can find.
