50th wedding anniversary

Planning a 50th for about 100 guests.. Dad was in Air Force for 1st 4 yrs of marriage then Air National Guard for 10 yrs.. Altogether 20 yrs... He is still very fond of those times.. They were stationed in GA, LA, VA during the first 4 yrs. How can I incorporate Big Band Music. and Air Force when they dont dance often now and didnt then?? If you have 40's music would you need to dance also?? Please Help.
