I did a detective party for my 8 year old boy. They made detective badges. I had taken the guests' picture before and had them developed. I glued their picture to a piece of posterboard a little bigger than their picture.Using a washable stamp pad, they put their fingerprints on their I.D. We also did a scavenger hunt. We made clues in rhyme. With the help of 2 other parents, the kids drove around the neighborhood trying to find the "Goody bags" that had been "stolen". I also always do a pinata. No, it has nothing to do with detectives, but the kids enjoy it so much, it has become a tradition. You can buy them for about $10, but you can make a simple one using a paper bag or covering a large balloon with paper mache.
