Great age for this type of party. I have 2 sons and have done the following activities for each at seperate parties.

Call it a camaflouge game. Get as many small object of different colors and types as you would like to use. Such as a quarter, brown crayon, shoelace, etc.

Before the kids arrive, you can even prepare the day before,) your child probably won't notice the things if he is anything like the typical kid of that age ahead of time) hide them. For example: place a quarter on something chrome, a brown crayon on a piece of wood, something green on a plant. Then write down all the items on a piece of paper with where they are. This is for you so that when they are all screaming excitedly you can remember where everything is.

Give each child a list of the items so that he can write down where he found them. I used several rooms so that the kids are not all on top of each other at once.

The one who finds the most in a preset amount of time is the winner. They may ask you for help as to which room an item is in or what color it is. You can help them if you wish.

It took them about 1/2 hour to play.
