Mary, I am also in the process of planning a 50th wedding anniversary party for my in-laws. (Also in June.) I went to a local card shop called Party City - they have a large selection of different catalogs where you can order wedding invitations. There is a small section in these catalogs devoted to anniversary invitations. They had quite a few different wordings. Now about the menu - we have decided to go for a "family style buffet". I don't normally like buffets because I hate standing in the food line, but this buffet is different. The food is actually brought right to each and every table in big bowls. You just serve yourself. It consists of: baked chicken, sausage & peppers, zitis, 3 different types of salads, rolls and beverage. (It was the least expensive way to go but seemed to offer a big variety.) I hope I was able to help a little. Now I need some advice. Were you planning on having any kind of tribute? I am looking for some ideas on how to make this a nice but fun party for everyone. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep the party from being boring? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
