hi, we gave our parents a 50th (formal dinner) and this is what we did, maybe it will help with some ideas: once all of the guest were seated, the band leader announced the children of our parents to enter and called each one out separately. then the grandchildren were announced individually and made their entrance. just before our parents made their entrance, a short story was told about how they met and then made the grand entrance. 1 - separate table for grandchildren 2 - parents table was for them and their children plus their children's spouses 3 - during dinner, each grandchild made a presentation (a song, a poem, etc.) 4 - decorations for the parents table was a floral arrangement with a picture of them both when they were 19 (when they met) 5 - an easle out in the reception area with their picture displayed. 6 - wallet size photos made up and put on cards thanking the guest for coming. these cards were passed out by the grands during the reception hour. hope this helps a little - let me know. good luck
