In the last several years, instead of buying gifts for my adult family and friends who already have "everything" they want. Instead I select a name, age from a "GIVING TREE" (usually located at all the major department stores). Then I make up a gift certificate (on the computer) and during our family gift exchange I present the certificate identifying who I bought a gift for, age, name and circumstances. It makes it so much easier and helps the less fortunate, at the same time.
