You can’t have too much signage. Ensure you educate your guests about everything that is happening. Use signage to get your message across. And make sure to theme signs so that everything is well coordinated. Signage is useful for several purposes. Use it to carry through your theme (e.g., a directional sign for a Broadway event sending people to Times Square, 42nd Street, the Majestic Theatre, etc.), to identify a certain designated area (volunteer check in, backstage), to create a "room" (e.g., CASINO ROYALE), or as a company or organization display. Welcome Signs - This is important. Remember, the first thing your guests see upon entering the event venue will set the tone for the evening. Make a fabulous first impression with a welcome sign or other strategic message that suits your event. For example at a "cruise" event, place a giant captain standing on a gangplank welcoming everyone. If this is a corporate event, use your logo everywhere. Take advantage of the event’s marketing opportunity to send a strategic message about your company or selected product. Backdrops - Backdrops such as a name in lights, a company logo, or a new product message are all ways to carry through a theme. Backdrops can also serve as the room focal point. Hang them over the DJ or Band, over your speaker or behind awards presentations.
