special effects, the whole room takes on an elegant, starlit atmosphere.
Invitations
Star
invitations are perfect for this occasion. Silver, gold, and ones that sparkle
should fill the invitation. Fill the envelopes with
star confetti
for added shimmer. For a fancy option, try something like this
gold star invitation or a
silver spiral galaxy invitation.
On the invitation, indicate the type of attire required, especially if it is going to be black tie. Have everyone come dressed as a glamorous Hollywood star and make it an all-star party.
Welcome Area
Greet
guests with a walk Under the Stars! Use the
Under the Stars kit
to create a celestial entrance and perfect for photo-ops. Line the walkway and
driveway with
star luminaries. The place will gleam with starlight.
Place a welcome sign at the registration table welcoming everyone to the Starlight Ball. You could have it read, “Welcome to XYZ Company/Organization’s Galaxy! Where you walk on stars!”
Give everyone their seating card, a silver or gold star with their name and table number on it. A fun idea is to name each of the tables a different star or constellation. Here is a list of stars that will intrigue your guests:

Go all out and use black, silver, gold and glitter filled balloon bouquets at the welcome table. Using the same colored balloons lead everyone into the party room with a balloon archway.
Decorations
Make
the party sparkle just like the Big Dipper! As your guests enter the room, they
will be stunned by the starlight effect. Tables feature a fabulously "starlit"
balloon arch over the entrance to the dining area. Top tables with metallic
linens in silver or gold. Scatter
glitter stars
on the table tops. Use
star luminaries as centerpieces. Another option is to use balloon bouquets and as a base, a star shaped cutout made out of foam core. Vases filled with white flowers
always look nice.
Line
the bar in
black and silver table skirting
and serve hors d’oeuvres on
star plates.
Finally, line the bar with frosted star votives.
Hang
twinkling stars at different lengths from the ceiling. The ceiling will be lit with a mirrored ball that twists back and forth (an elegant effect), and four leko lights and four cyber lights. Then, have four dancing "stars" (people dressed up like stars) strolling throughout the room. The stars should be lit with bee lights and gaily attired. When it's time for dinner seating, have the "stars" lead your guests into the dining area.
Entertainment
Honor and give out awards to those employees and clients who have been true stars. Have an awards ceremony followed by dinner and dancing. Hire a DJ or band to play music throughout the night. Make sure its music that will get everyone starry-eyed. A harpist to serenade guests through dinner is a nice, elegant touch.
