Publicity Committee

Kick-Off

1. Send out news release announcing event and kick-off information;
     
2. Meet with Invitation Committee to make sure appropriate media are invited to the kick-off;
     
3. Call the media to personally invite them and encourage attendance;
     
4. Send out news release immediately following the kick-off event listing who attended, what happened, etc.

Benefit

1. Send out news release announcing date, theme, place and honorees, accompanied by an invitation to the event;
    
2. Send out public service announcements (PSAs) regarding same;
    
3. Follow up news releases and PSAs with hopes for story or announcement;
     
4. Set up TV/radio appearances for honorees;
     
5. Follow up with selected media by phone to see if they plan to attend the event;
     
6. Forward complimentary tickets to those media representatives who confirm;
     
7. Provide Dinner Planning Committee a list so that they media representatives when doing the seating chart.
