Bar and Bat Mitzvah Party PlanTo Make Your Life Easier
Here's a template for the perfect Bar or Bat Mitzvah party that we use here at Party411.com. I've explained how to use different items throughout the party. You can also download a pdf checklist version of this form to keep track of all of your Bar or Bat Mitzvah planning!
Party Basics
Photographer Name and Number
Title (if you're using a theme name)
Entrance Area Décor Welcome Sign - This is a good way to introduce your theme and, of course, welcome your guests. The welcome area can establish your theme, your colors and even the tone of your celebration.
Balloons - You can have a floor bouquet by the welcome sign or fill the entry area with balloon bouquets or balloon arches. It adds color and excitement to any party!
Lifesize cutout - A great way to show off your child and welcome guests. We use lifesize cutouts at almost all or our Bar and Bat Mitzvahs! Add a speech bubble with a welcome from the Bar or Bat Mitzvah girl!
Sign-in Board/Book A must for any Bar or Bat Mitzvah. A personalized sign in board or book makes a great memento for your child. We choose between 2 fun options:
Sign-in Board - Choose one that matches the theme or your event or have your personalized caricature art highlighted on the board.
3D Sign-in book - Choose a great background that matches your child's interests.
Balloons at the sign in area - this will draw people to the board.
Seating Card Area
Seating Cards - We always use a seating card that matches the theme of the event. You can add a piece of candy or a fun keychain to the card as a fun and inexpensive favor.
Seating Card Sign - a small
sign to draw people to the seating card area. Choose cute wording based on your
theme. For a luau, try “Hula Your Way To Your Seat!” Balloons at the seating card table
Tables
Centerpieces
Kids Centerpieces
Table Numbers – you can get these from the catering hall or have them match your seating cards
Confetti - Most party stores have themed confetti that will match a theme. Or we love photo confetti! There are many websites out there that offer this great personalized product.
Candy - You can scatter candy (wrapped!) around the table or have plated chocolate. Again, it depends on your theme. Scattered candy is a must for a candy theme party, but plated would be better for a more formal event.
We always put a personalized candy bar or a personalized chocolate photo favor at each place! (or you can have these out on a table a thank you for coming gift at the end of the night
Napkin Rings - You can have a
lot of fun with this! Keychains (with ribbon), bracelets (Leis for a
luau!) or even sunglasses make great napkin rings. We like to use
something that your guests can then wear! Or tie a piece of
personalized ribbon around each napkin. Votive Candles - Most catering halls will offer candles, or go to a local craft store for unscented white or colroed candles. Make sure to get glass holders!
Linens/Napkins - Again, either get from the catering hall/event location. Or you can find many rental linen companies online. Just make sure to match the event colors.
Personalized Cameras - Give one camera to each guest or set one on each table. Guests can keep their cameras as an unforgettable party favor or you can collect the cameras and create a unique photo album taken from your guests point of view.
Bar/Buffet Area Menu signs - a small sign on each buffet letting guests know the menu for the evening.
Buffet Signs - this is great fun. Have a 2x6 sign hung over each buffet and rename them for your theme. Having a baseball party for a boy named Josh? Name one buffet "Josh Stadium Concessions".
Balloon arches over each buffet - add color to the room!
DJ Area DJ Sign - This is the place to have a great big sign with the event name highlighted.
Balloon towers on either side of band/DJ - add more color to the room!
Ceiling Treatment
If the ceiling is low enough or accessible over the dancefloor, we love to hang decorations. Have hanging monkeys for a jungle party or records for a music party. Fun!
Cocktail Napkins
Photo Op
Hire someone to take pictures at the event (or your DJ might be able to help!) and your guests get a wonderful favor. Use one of our themed photo ops or have a table out with fun dress up items for the kids.
Favors
We love to decorate our guests! Give the DJ a selection of fun and inexpensive favors to pass out throughout the evening like glow favors, hats, sunglasses, inflatables and noisemakers. Many of these items are themed, so look for ones that work with your party theme!
Besides dancefloor give-aways, many people like a personalized party favor. Kids love t-shirts, boxer shorts and pajama pants. If you're interested, please let us know! We can help!
Don't forget to tag off each gift with a personalized favor tag.
Newsletter/Menu
A themed newsletter is a fun way to thank guests for coming and highlight your child. You can mention out of towners and family and save the time of a candlelighting ceremony. Having a TV theme? Create a TV Guide and have the shows be about your child! It's great fun. Put one at each place for your guests to enjoy.
